Just point out the failed policies……..

Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

If you listen to the political pundits and experts, the safe road for any candidate is to focus on policy.  Keep the message simple:  Obama’s policies have failed and ours will succeed.  Unfortunately, this advice ignores the fact that the American people desire substance and clear leadership.  The core issue is not and cannot be about the obvious fact of failed policy but rather the core beliefs behind those policies.  Why are faulty policies still being promoted?  This election must center upon core beliefs about what America was intended to be and what America will be.  While economic concerns are in focus, you cannot separate social issues from the debate.  Social issue are and have long been the reason for our current economic situation.  I believe the American people are ready to cure the disease and not simply treat the symptoms.

He doesn’t understand how Washington works.

The “experts” are quick to point out that Jared Blankenship has no political experience.  I have no first hand knowledge of how the process of government works in Washington D.C.  They are correct on both points and I must thank them for their unwitting endorsement.  Neither I nor the average American citizen cares how Washington works or what the conventional process of government may be.  We are done with “normal” government at work.  We want Constitutional government at work.  I hope those individuals will continue to shed light upon my “lack of political experience”, for that is my greatest asset.  Think outside the box and keep spreading the word.  “A little leaven leaveneth the whole”.

Child’s play: Let the fingerpointing begin—it’s their fault.

Does anyone see any sign of leadership in America?  We will soon be operating once again on continuing resolution to fund government, and we are no closer to a real budget than we were 2 years ago.  Most reasonable Americans have accepted the fact that we are “broke” and we must do what every American family must do in this circumstance:  cut everywhere.  Rather than spend the next 6 months debating whereto cut the budget, why not implement cuts in every area of the Federal budget to gain immediate progress.  You know the answer as well as I do.  Washington is still playing politics.  Our representatives still refuse to act like adults.  Each side is still positioning themselves to blame the other for the results.  The American voter already knows who is to blame:  career politicians scamming for votes.

Let the “move to the middle” begin

Saturday, February 26th, 2011

Everyone is moving to the middle.  Politicians everywhere of every shape and form are once again interested in what you think and believe.  Where was the concern 6 months ago, not to mention 2 years ago?  What caused the need to move back to the point that “real” Americans could relate?  I have an idea.  Why do we not look for people who are so grounded in their convictions and principles that they never need to “move back to the middle”.  Many of us still respect COMMITMENT.

Leadership vs. Politics

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

Whomever is elected to be the next President of the United States of America cannot be elected as a package of expertise.   The fact is that there is no such candidate.  America must seek leadership rather than presumed expertise and political experience.  Leadership is not born within an understanding of the inner workings of government.  Leadership is born of clear conviction and understanding.  Consider those men which have been held in high esteem within this nation:  Washington, Jefferson, Adams, and Lincoln.  Those men are considered great today not because they understood how politics functioned but rather because they each possessed a clear vision of what America should be and what role government should play in the lives of free citizens.  By today’s standards each would be considered very poor and unlikely candidates for office.
